MORE ABOUT T.R.A.V.L.R

I'm Lucas, a 23-year-old singer-songwriter and producer, performing under the name T.R.A.V.L.R since 2020. My musical journey started early: I began with the trumpet at six years old, followed by guitar, piano, bass, drums, saxophone, ukulele and harmonica – many of which I taught myself.
At some point I started writing my first songs and recording them at home – on my father’s old laptop and a small USB microphone from my grandfather; a moment that changed everything for me.
From then on, music took over completely. I spent every day writing, producing and shaping my own style. Step by step – song by song – the sound I live today began to grow.
At 17, I built my first home studio, and two years later I was already working on songs for other artists. At 20, I received my first major commission for the German singer Ayman. Since then, I’ve released multiple singles and, in 2025, my debut album.
On stage, I’ve performed solo, in bands and in orchestras – each experience shaping my path and my sound.I aim to keep my music as honest as possible: songs people can see themselves in, songs that ease the weight of everyday life for a few minutes – whether through laughter, dancing or tears. I write mostly in English, sometimes in German. Artists like Passenger, Ed Sheeran, Lewis Capaldi and Green Day have strongly influenced my style.
I'm currently working on my second album, continuously refining my sound – always with the goal of creating something real.

At a very early age, my grandfather, to whom I owe a large part of who I am today, introduced me to artists like Eric Clapton, Jimmy Hendrix and David Gilmour. He introduced me to styles like blues, jazz, folk and rock. This is still the music I always listen to. After I started writing my own songs, I fell in love with the singer-songwriter genre. But my heart still belongs to Rock 'n' Roll. Even as a child and later as a teenager, I was hooked on the music of the sixties to the eighties. I listened to everything from Chuck Berry to John Mayer, Jimmy Hendrix, Eric Clapton, the great B. B. King and Pink Floyd. I would say that my way of playing guitar and singing is mainly inspired by musicians like B. B. King and John Mayer but also musicians like Passenger and Dean Lewis.

I work in a professional home studio built around reliability, sound quality, and a workflow I know inside out. At the heart of my setup is a MacBook Pro M1 Pro (16 GB RAM), running Logic Pro X, which I use for recording, producing, editing, mixing, and pre-mastering.
For audio conversion and recording, I rely on the Universal Audio Volt 476 audio interface, giving me clean, transparent sound and reliable performance for vocals, instruments, and line recordings. My main vocal microphone is the Warm Audio WA-87 R2, a large-diaphragm condenser inspired by the classic Neumann U87 sound — detailed, warm, and versatile for vocals, acoustic guitar, and voice recordings. For dynamic applications, guitars, and rough vocals, I also use a Shure SM58.
Monitoring is handled through Yamaha HS7 studio monitors, providing an honest and balanced reference, paired with Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pro open-back studio headphones for detailed mixing and critical listening.
For composing, arranging, and MIDI control, I use the Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol S88 Mk2, combined with the Nektar Panorama CS12 mixing controller for hands-on control inside Logic Pro X. This allows me to work quickly, musically, and efficiently without breaking creative flow.
My projects and backups are stored on a SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD (1 TB), ensuring fast load times and secure data handling.
Every piece of equipment in my studio is chosen for consistency and sound, not hype. I don’t chase endless upgrades — I use tools I fully understand, so the focus stays where it belongs: on your music and delivering professional results.

Most of my songs begin in a very simple way — with an acoustic guitar or a piano. Those instruments help me focus on what really matters: melody, emotion, and honesty. I usually write in my studio, because it’s a place where I feel comfortable and inspired. The atmosphere is calm, cosy, and free of pressure, which makes it easy for ideas to flow and for lyrics to come naturally.
For me, everything starts with a melody. I almost always need a strong melodic idea first — something that feels right emotionally. Once the melody is there, the words follow. The melody tells me what the song wants to say, what mood it carries, and how the lyrics should feel.
When writing lyrics, I work quickly and intuitively. I like capturing the first honest thoughts before overthinking them. Later, I refine the lines, adjust phrasing, and shape the story until everything feels natural and true.
This process keeps my songwriting grounded and emotional. I focus on writing songs that feel real, not forced — songs that start simply and grow organically into something meaningful.

Acknowledgement
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the people who have always supported me the most. Starting with my parents, who have always tried to make all my dreams possible. They never put obstacles in my way with my creativity and music, and even if it sounded terrible, they supported me to become better. They paid for all my music lessons and my first instruments. Without them, I would never be where I am today. Mom and Dad, I love you more than anything and am so grateful for everything you have done for me.
It must also be said that 90% of my songs would not have been possible without the contribution of my beautiful and adorable wife. She has inspired me to write almost all of my songs and gives me courage and strength every day to keep working harder and harder on my dreams. She is the centre of my world, and I love her more than anything. If you are reading this, my darling, I love you as much as no man has ever loved a woman.
But I would be nowhere near ready if it weren't for my grandparents, my biggest fans. My grandparents gave me my first real computer, and that was the starting signal for my own music production. Later, they gave me a speedy computer for my birthday, which allowed me to use Logic Pro X. They also often helped me financially and always supported my plans. Grandma and Grandpa, you are the best people in the whole world and I´ll never forget what you’ve done for me.
